What to expect
What time is check-in and what should I expect?
9:00 am at Vince Grady Field on the Western Illinois University campus. You can park in Q Lot located across the street from Vince Grady Field for free. The morning of the Color Craze we'll provide fresh fruit, breakfast foods and assorted sweet treats for Color Craze participants for FREE! We will also have water stations set up along the route.
What should I wear?
At check-in you'll receive your Color Craze 5k t-shirt that you can wear. If you'd rather not wear that we suggest wearing a light color shirt since the color will show up best on white. We will NOT be throwing color at anyone's face but you may want to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the clouds of color that will occur.
Do I need to worry about this color staining my clothes, skin and hair?
The color we'll be throwing is safe and edible, but you probably wouldn't want to eat it since it doesn't taste very good! The color will wash off of your skin with soap and warm water and will wash out of your clothes too. If you have light colored hair you'll need to shampoo it a couple times. If you're worried about your hair we'll be selling bandannas the day of the race that you can wear!
What happens after the Color Craze?
We'll be having an after race party at Vince Grady Field where we'll have a DJ, raffle off door prizes and we'll be selling extra Color Craze t-shirts ($10) and extra goodies. It's going to be a blast!
